James McFarland's birthdate in census records says born 1840. In the 1900 census in Falls City, Richardson Co. Nebraska, it says he came to US in 1848 and was naturalized in 1852.
I have not been able to find him before the 1870 census when he was married to Martha Cecelia Roy.
