(Research):I am just a novice at genealogy and have just begun to become interested in the past year after my uncle George passed away. Sadly the MacFarlane line has ended with the passing of George. Our line is the one with Donald MacFarlane(174 6) and Mary McNee(1764) and so on.

My mother was a MacFarlane and her two brothers passed away without having any children. I am the oldest relative of that line. When George passed away, I had the task of cleaning the farm house that was built when the MacFarlane's came to Huntin gdon Quebec in the 1700's. Sadly the antique hunters from Montreal Quebec had purchased most of the heirlooms that had been passed down through the generations. I was able to find and keep many of the documents that remained. I have not spent an y much time going through the pile I kept but it did include birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, some pictures that had no names attached and two letters of Burgess from the 1700's for two of the MacFarlanes.

From the family bible and other documents I do have the continuing line from Clarence MacFarlane (1889) which seems to be where your information ends.

Because of this entry some researchers have shown Daniel as son of George L but it was a family farm and in the 1871 census both families were living together on the farm. Daniels DOB of c1851 was nine years before George L's marriage in 1860.

Daniel Macfarlane (son of 2nd Daniel) had nine children, of whom but six are living, viz. :
Margaret, Daniel, George, John A., Jessie and Elizabeth, all of whom — except Jessie, who married a Mr. Ross, and settled in Fayette Co., Ia.,— live upon the old homestead.
Two sons of Daniel (Daniel and Parlan) own farms near their father, who lives upon and owns the farm purchased by his father Daniel, who settled in 1843, upon this beautiful farm of five hundred broad acres. In the old homestead are treasured heir -looms of the past generations, brought with the family from Scotland.

2 - Daniel Macfarlane (son of Donald), was baptized Oct. 10, 1875, at Port of Menteith, having been born at Rednock Castle. He married Margaret Lyon (who was born at Glasgow, Jan. 23, 1796), Nov. 26, 1821.He was a merchant and Burgess of Glasgow . He emigrated to America in 1843, and purchased five hundred acres of land on the banks of Trout River, in the Township of Elgin, three miles from the village of Huntingdon, where his surviving children still own the land and dwell thereon.
