I don't know why William P. McFarland said his mother was Annie Allen and he was born in Mercer Co. MO, unless there are two Perry McFarlands and they have gotten mixed together.

I am separating this William P. born in 1859 from the William born in 1861 in Morgan Co. MO. son of Perry and Sarah Green, married in 1860 in Morgan Co.

In the 1870 census in Morgan Co. MO, there is Perry McFarland, 25 and Sarah 20, and William 9 and Andrew J 7. William would have been born in 1861 is seems, not 1859.

William married Lydia Lewis in 1880. Lydia was born in Apr 1864 in Kentucky; died in Dec 1941 in Carroll County, Arkansas, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

This Perry McFarland has been mixed up with another line in various trees; however, I have come to believe that he is not the father of William P. McFarland, born in Mercer Co. MO.

This Perry appears in 1850 and 1860 with Elijah in Morgan Co.

Then 1870 in Morgan Co. with wife Sarah. However, it cannot be Sarah Green. It must be a second wife, due to age. Some trees have her as Sarah Davenport. I have not found the marriage record yet, but some trees record it as March 11, 1869 in Morgan Co. MO.

That makes sense with the 1880 census in Jasper, Camden Co. MO. On the same page with Perry and Sarah, and the kids Andrew through Mattie Jane, are several families named Davenport.

In 1900 this family appears to be in Boston, Madison Co. Arkansas, and Perry and Sarah, with two more daughters, Law T. 17, and Rody A. 13, are living next to John M. McFarland, born July 1872...who seems to be the Marshal of the 1880 census.
