| 3156 | I have discovered the death details of my great-grandfather. John Denver McFarlane died 13 August 1943 in Seattle, Washington. He fell off the face of the earth (after his wife, my great grandmother died in childbirth delivering my grandfather) a nd his life has been an unsolved mystery for 94 years. I have been focusing on tracking this information down for three years, and I finally solved it. [E-mail from Rich McFarlane to MHH of CMW] (Research):From: rich.mcfarlane@gfschools.org To: mhhaines@aol.com Sent: 3/31/2015 7:55:26 A.M. Central Daylight Time Subj: More genealogy info Hi Mary, My name is Rich McFarlane and I am a member of Clan MacFarlane Worldwide. Last year I sent you some genealogy information for the website, and since sending you this, I have discovered the death details of my great-grandfather. John Denver McFar lane died 13 August 1943 in Seattle, Washington. This is a simple fact for the website, but an absolutely HUGE find for me. He fell off the face of the earth (after his wife, my great grandmother died in childbirth delivering my grandfather) and his life has been an unsolved mystery for 94 year s. I have been focusing on tracking this information down for three years, and I finally solved it (pats self on the back). For our family, this is the equivalent of finding and positively identifying the remains of Richard III. Thanks, Mary. | 3157 | I have found him also in trees as the son of Hugh Kirkpatrick Sr. born 1697 Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Died May 18, 1768 in Chester Co. PA married to Margaret Gregg. In the tax list of 1753 in Chester Co. PA is Hugh Kirkpatrick and a son John Kirkpatrick. History of Chester County, p. 198 In 1799 living in Grainger Co. TN. | 3159 | I have seen him referenced as Daniel J. McFarland, but the J. maybe standing for Jr. He was born in the double year, sometimes seen as 1723/24, however the births of other children indicate we would consider this year to be 1724. Daniel intended to marry a girl named Betsey Harper and filed papers of his intent in 1745; however his father objected so strongly that he put in his will that he would be disinherited if he did so. So, the year after that will was written Daniel married Elizabeth Margaret Dun instead. | McFarland, Daniel (I20944)

| 3161 | I have very little information on Robert Lorimer Macfarlane's marriage. My mother says she thinks he was married to someone known as Mary but not too sure. Robert and Mary? had a daughter, Marion Thomas Macfarlane (my grandmother) DOB 05/03/1900 Govan (died 20/01/1965 in Sydney Australia) and a son, Allan (no other details of DOB or place of birth, or further lineage). Marion married my grandfather, David Easson in Glasgow (no date), DOB 05/04/1886 Glasgow,(died 06/05/1974 in Sydney Australia). David was previously married in Chester to a Mabel Penny, I have further info on their children if you are interested. Marion & David may have come to Australia I believe on a ship called the OTRANTO but have not been able to confirm that. (Maybe there is a ship manefesto somewhere out there). | 3163 | I received conflicting dates from the same source. His birth date is either Jan.5, 1846 or May 1, 1846. His marriage date is either June 10, 1869, or Oct. 6, 1869. It seems that the person that provided this information inverted the meaning of the numbers on one of the pages. I have not tried to find out which is correct, so please contact me with corrections. | McFarland, Theodrick Bell (I30173)

| 3164 | I think that Calvin Deaver is actually the son of Joseph M. Deaver who died in 1850, and he was C.A. Deaver, 10 months old, in the 1850 census. I think he was then taken in by his uncle after the uncle was married. | Deaver, Calvin (I9023)

| 3177 | IMMIGRATION: 1747. Original Land survey of Cumberland County in 1747 had his name. TAXLIST: 1755 NORTH CAROLINA, Cumberland County. John McFarlin. 1 - IMMIGRATION: Must have been abt 1750-1755. Many sources, however, state that he came 1772 from Scotland to Cumberland County, North Carolina. [This relates to a different John McFarland that is often confused with this one.-Ed.] PROBATE: 1767 NORTH CAROLINA, Cumberland County. John McFarland. Mentions wife, children: Duncan, Mary, Dugald, Margaret and John. Most of clan migrated to (MS-Mississippi). Had daughters: Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. McNair, and another Mrs. McNair. 2 - Several sources have put John McFarland (died 1767 NC) as the husband of two women; Mary McLeran, and Catherine Buie. John's will has no mention of the children of the first wife, esp. missing is Bartholomew Parlan, who was born 1751 in Cumberland Co. NC, while his mother was already dead back in Scotland. I do not believe that these two lines are from the same father, although I have seen the claim on one tree that he is. [E-mail from Mary Helen Haines rec: 15 May 2011] 3 - The line of Dugald, appears to be the line in Richmond Co. (which would be connected to the John and Catherine Buie line) and that is not genetically related to the Moore Co. Parlan line.
