| 475 | (Research):I am just a novice at genealogy and have just begun to become interested in the past year after my uncle George passed away. Sadly the MacFarlane line has ended with the passing of George. Our line is the one with Donald MacFarlane(174 6) and Mary McNee(1764) and so on. My mother was a MacFarlane and her two brothers passed away without having any children. I am the oldest relative of that line. When George passed away, I had the task of cleaning the farm house that was built when the MacFarlane's came to Huntin gdon Quebec in the 1700's. Sadly the antique hunters from Montreal Quebec had purchased most of the heirlooms that had been passed down through the generations. I was able to find and keep many of the documents that remained. I have not spent an y much time going through the pile I kept but it did include birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, some pictures that had no names attached and two letters of Burgess from the 1700's for two of the MacFarlanes. From the family bible and other documents I do have the continuing line from Clarence MacFarlane (1889) which seems to be where your information ends. | 476 | (Research):I am Robert Duncan MacFarlane born 4 May 1926 in Kalispell, MT. I am writing my memoirs and would like to make contact with members of my family. My father, Archibald Moore MacFarlane, was born in 1894 at Deerlodge, MT and died in 1978. He was the son of Archibald Campbell MacFarlane who was bom in 1859 in Tara, Owensound, Ontario, Canada and died in 1957. His father, William, had emigrated from Scotland where he was born 30 April 1828 in Johnstone, near Paisley, the son of David born l0 July l799 in Kilmacolm and grandson of Robert baptized 2 June 1766 in Kilbarchan parish. My father had a younger brother Lucius born about 1924 and now deceased. I would like to know and correspond with any relatives I may have. Can anyone help? Wigtownshire 1810-1825. All his census returns he says he was born in New Luce or Glen Luce, Wigtownshire. However there are no FamilySearch or Scotland's people search results that support this. Possibly he thought he was born there because that's where his folks come from.-Ed. The Glasgow connection makes it likely he is the following Duncan from Scotland's People search, except his father was shown as a stonemason in New Luce in 1820. I have not yet found our common ancestor .My family records are from the newspapers of the area and from my own research in Philadelphia. My ggggrandfather is John R. McFarlane(7/24/1773-12/09/1811) who lies buried at the Third Presbyterian church at Fourth & Pine streets in Philadelphia. He died in Havana and lies buried with his wife-Rebecca Rowan McFarlane and their children, Margaret, who died at age 11 and Robert Williamson who died 11/12/1830 at age 26 years, 5 months and 8 days. John had two sons-George Rowan McFarlane (12/25/1806-9/27/1852) and Robert Williamson. George Rowan McFarlane had two sons-John R. (3/05/1829-7/11/1910) and Thomas (1830-1902). John R. had four sons -H. King McFarlane (1/21/1875-7/12/1940); Park R. (01/03/1878-6/03/1949), George R. and John F. who died in 1885. Park R. was my grandfather and his only son-John R.
