5073 Peggy is my sister....About that family line...
now you are going to have to be patient with me because I'm going to confess a little bit here.....I'm being a little bit of a "dog-in-manger" here.
Before I met you folks I spent 2 years going to the local archives, manually digging out the tidbits about the family...I still have a lot of that work to do on older siblings of John Malcom (Pop, dad called him). When I first got into Clan MaFarlane and Ancestry.com I kept everything private but I am learning you have to give to get.
To my small credit, I've changed my Ancestry tree to public. And I tried to make my profile on Clan MacFarlane public but it won't change and I just get an error message back...The same thing happens when I tried to upload a photo to my profile. I sent an email in about it but haven't heard anything about it.
I'm totally jealous that you and Terrance and Mary Helen get copies of the lineage of everybody in Clan MacFarlane, it's a great deal. I assume those records are availavble to the membership through your database, but up until now I haven't had the opportunity to ask you. I meant to.
To be honest I find the database confusing and difficult to use. I am trying to get the hang of it. I frustrates me immensely when I try to duplicate one of your searches and I don't get the same results.
So there it is, warts and all. I appreciate your recent help very much, but if this has turned you off, then I'm sorry.

5074 PEGGY MCFARLAND (ca 1827 to ?)
(Research by Peter Folsom McFarlin - May 2012, Oct 2018)

Williams states that most of Alexander's seven sons and two daughter s "settled in this vicinity" (*1 p 168). This Peggy's name and approxi mate birthdate was taken from her father's estate settlement.
In March, 1833, the inventory of her father's estate states, "... Ale x, late of Poland..." and, later that, "...Goods set off to widow an d children; Sale held 16 Apr 1833... Alex of Coitsville, some of the b uyers were: Andrew, Margaret, Willia m, and Alexander McFarlane... part ial settlement, mentions cash paid to Alex. McF, Jr and Andrew McF ".
Further, that; "... William McClelland appt guardian to James McF an d Samuel McF until 21 years; to Robert McF til 14 yrs; to Peggy McF ti l 12... all minor children and heirs of Alexr. McFarlane late of Coits ville. James and Samuel made their o wn choice..."
Peggy (or is it Margaret?) is not further located. She had likely die d or married.

5100 Peter's wife's last name is actually Jane Byrns, this took some work as records go back and forth in this family with Burke and Byrns, but it is Byrns. I have her father (Edward Byrns) obit which includes Mrs Peter McFarlane as his daughter. I als o have quite a few census that have their last name as Byrns.

Jane died in 1942, all I have for proof of this is her grave stone with Peter's stone
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=67373346&ref=acom

I have US city records for her living at her house in Buffalo until 1941.
