6047 So, is it possible that the William McFarland, born 1803, who married Cynthia Edwards on Nov. 28, 1822 in Orange Co. is the son of Larkin who is only identified as a male McFarland from the census records? This William stays put and is living in D ist. 1, Orange Co. next to Umstead and Laws families.

In the 1850 census in Dyer Co. Martha McFarland appears as fam. 304 living with T.D. Lacy who is married to M F. Lacy, age 30, from North Carolina, who I assume is her daughter. She appears as M. McFarland, 63, from North Carolina, and with M. McF arland, Jr. 21, female, from TN; and C.N. McFarland, 20, female from TN, and A.E. McFarland 4, female from TN.
