| 6108 | Several descriptions of this cemetery follow: First was shared with me by Dianne Gomez: MCFARLAND FAMILY GRAVES These notes were made by Doris Smith Haley in August, 1981, taken from six gravestones found on Charles Loesing farm, four miles south of Boonville, MO on Rankin's Mill Road. Rankin Family Graves (Reuben McFarland line). Cemetery is fenced with wrought iron and a cedar tree at each headstone facing east. C. Loesing. History: The cemetery was named after Reuben McFarland, who was born in North Carolina, one of eight children of Jacob and Nancy nee' Cathey McFarland. Nancy Cathey was a daughter of George Cathey, a Revolutionary Soldier. These families all came to Missouri about 1816; to St. Genevieve County and lived there two years and then came to Cooper County, in 1818; and settled the land where they lived out the remainder of their lives.
