• Notes

  Joseph McFarland was married to Esther C, according to census record, born in VA (consistent on all census records) about about 1793. First found him in Middle Tennessee, Lincoln County, on the 1820 Census, lost him in 1830, found him again in 1840 (Lincoln County); 1850 (Maury County), 1860 (Hickman County); wife as a widow 1870 (Hickman County). Children (James - my line), Mary, Elizabeth, and Melissa. Have info on James, of course, a bit on Elizabeth and I think I've found Mary and her family. Nothing yet on Melisssa. Unfortunately, the courthouse was burn as a result of "helpful" citizens during the civil war and we have very few records. Too many of the family cemeteries have been lost.
