Funeral on Monday, 6th December, to Kilmahog Cemetry from Cherry cottage at 2.30. p.m. 8 - Obituary from "Callander Advertiser" Mr Archibald Macfarlane One of Callander's oldest natives died at his home this (Friday) morning in the person of Mr Archibald Macfarlane, Cherry Cottage. He was in his 85th year. Mr Macfarlane for many years carried carried on the business of P. Macfarlane & Sons, slaters and builders which was founded in 1792, and and is now conducted by his son Peter. In his young days Mr Macfarlane was an enthusiastic football player. A native of the town, none knew the the history of the district better and it was always a pleasure to chat with him about old times . He also posessed a wide knowledge of the works of Burns from which he could quote at great length. He was a member of St. Kessog's Church and also a prominent Freemason, having from time to time held office in Lodge Ben Ledi. The funeral takes place on Monday to Kilmahog Cemetry at 2.30 p.m..
