  Burial Plot O 202 (Research):Douglas Kerr dokerr@gmail.com via nevada.shnw.net Dec 15, 2020, 5:47 AM (20 hours ago) Proposed Change: Christina MacFarlane (I36058) Tree: Clan current Christina McFarlane had a child named John, born in Callander on 26 Sep 1879. The Statutory Records of Birth (available on ScotlandsPeople) gives no name for the father, instead recording the birth as illegitimate. The father may have been John Kidd. What happened to this child is unknown. Christina married John Kidd on 30 Dec 1881 at Bridge End, Callander. She had another child, named John Alexander Kidd, born on 15 Jul 1882 at Bridge End, Callander. Later that year the family moved to the United States, settling in Fort Wayne, Indiana. All the following information can be found on FamilySearch.org. While in Indiana she had three more children: Charles Edward Kidd (29 May 1884 - 7 Apr 1954), Alfred F. Kidd (2 Jun 1886 - 31 Mar 1915) and Elizabeth Kidd (b. Nov 1889). Christina McFarlane died on 31 Dec 1893 and her gravestone (see findagrave.com) is at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Her husband later married someone named Grace. I also found a ship passenger list for the SS Furnessia that arrived in New York on 22 Oct 1892. One of the passengers was named Elsie McFarlane (aged 19), last resident in Callander. Another passenger was just named "Mrs Kidd" (aged 31) also last resident in Callander. Both stated that their intended destination was Fort Wayne, Indiana. Christina thus seems to have travelled back to Scotland for some reason, perhaps because her father had not long passed? How long her sister Elsie spent in the United States in unknown - I can find no trace of her until 17 Apr 1914, when she married David Alexander Buchanan in Stirling, Perthsire
