  (Research):1 - 1841 census, Westminster, London, has Robert McFARLANE with (presumably) children : Annie 14 married Henry HYSON, 1853, Lambeth Margaret 10 married James ROBINS, 1848, St Pancras Bessie 7 married James Diamond BUTTS, 1854, Chelsea George 3 unmarried 1861, Stockwell Another child, William, was born c1845, & married Ellen MAPLES, 1865, Wandsworth. Robert McFARLANE was married to Charlotte Prior, of Wolvercote, Oxf., and he was a stone mason, aged 55 in 1841. He was born in Scotland - "S" in census, but all children were born same county (Mdx). Not much to go on, but does anything ring a bell, in particular a Robert McFarlane, born 1782 - 1786, in Scotland! [ http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CLAN-MACFARLANE/2008-03/1204769457 ] IGI search for Robert s/o George b. +/- 5 yrs of 1784 in Scotland only brings up this Robert and a Robert McFarlan b.25 Oct 1780 Glasgow, Lanarkshire s/o George McFarlan and Cathrin Cameron. Have connected family to this Robert pending more inform ation. 2 - Marriage, 1825, at Deptford, London: Robert McFarlane, widower, married Charlotte PRIOR, spinster, 4 April 1825, St Paul's, Deptford (I have not traced an earlier marriage for the widowed Robert McF.) Birth Cert., 1839, Westminster: George David Duncan McFarlane, son of Robert McF., Stone Mason, & Charlotte McF. (formerly PRIOR), born 25 Feb. 1839 Census 1841, Westminster, London: Robert McFarlane aged 55 (i.e. 55-59), stone mason, born "S" (Scotland) 4 children: Annie, Margaret, Betsy & George (I have nothing to indicate where in Scotland Robert McF. came from - he died before 1851 census.) Death at Westminster, 1848: Robert McFarlane died Westminster March Quarter 1848, stated age 62 (This age does support the 1787 baptism«i».)«/i» Later census returns indicate another son, born c.1846: William McFarlane. I believe this William McF. married Ellen MAPLES of Hull, Yorks. at Wandsworth in 1865. 1871 & 1881 census returns show the couple together in Lambeth, but with no other family. As for the son, George McF., born 1839, after the 1861 census I have no more information - no clear evidence in any census or Free BDM records. children of Robert McFarlane & Charlotte were: Ann (married Henry HYSON) Margaret (married James ROBINS) - my ancestors Elizabeth (married 1. James DIMENT, & 2.
