Notes - (Research):1 - Had maybe nine children between 1828-1844. Most were born around Waasis and Burton. Descendants are scattered from farms near Fredericton, the city of St. John, to Nova Scotia and into the United States.

2 - guessing that George's Father might have been a William based on naming traditions??? My William left in 1816 for Canada... passenger list noted he was from Callander!

3 - William MacFarlane immigrated Nov 1816 from Scotland, possibly on the ship Favourite that left Port of Glasgow Oct 22, 1816 (various transcriptions show this ship departing 1815 but that is incorrect.)
He married Maria Kinney (kinnie?) probably in York or Sunbury County, NB and had maybe 9 children from 1828 to 1844... George Walter, Amos?, John?, Alan, Mary Jane, Francis/frannie, Sallie/Sarah, Warren, Anne? Most were born and lived around Waasi s and Burton. William and Maria were buried in Lower Lincoln Cemertary, Sunbury County, NB 1862 and 1884.

Reply from Larry:
There was a transcription error though and this ship actually sailed Oct 22, 1816, matching more closely with Wm's census record showing arrival Nov 1816. Passenger list showed William as 25
but born in 1783 he was probably 32-33... however the Captain was paid to bring YOUNG settlers to NB! Family "history" says he was born 1784 or 1786...
In Frederickton, NB where William settled, I was able to review this ship record and passenger list, and gained hords of imfo on his wife's Tracy family... fun driving the hiways there with signs to "watch out for moose crossing the road!"
different than the sheep to watch for in Scotland!
Also IGI extraction shows a William McFarlane b.24 May 1784 Glasgow, Lanarkshire to a William McFarlane and Isobel Stewart.

4 - Hi Andrew, I found this same info in 2004 when i went up to NB and researched at the nbgs library. It is totally wrong and i had intended to contact the researcher. She was born in 1920 though and may well be dead. I had an old NJ address an d phone number and I'll check that. She has my William as John marrying Elizabeth Kenny with some of the kids matching mine???
