• Notes

  I have seen him referenced as Daniel J. McFarland, but the J. maybe standing for Jr. He was born in the double year, sometimes seen as 1723/24, however the births of other children indicate we would consider this year to be 1724. Daniel intended to marry a girl named Betsey Harper and filed papers of his intent in 1745; however his father objected so strongly that he put in his will that he would be disinherited if he did so. So, the year after that will was written Daniel married Elizabeth Margaret Dun instead.
