She died on 17 January 1908 at a boarding house at 93 Madison Ave, New York City. She was buried in the Moravian Cemetery on Staten Island on 21 January 1908 in lo t 90-D. The cause of her death was listed as gangrene of the right foot and leg, and septicaemia (blood poisoning) with a contributory cause of arterial sclerosis.
She was the founder and first president of the Staten Island Diet Kitchen, an institution that furnished food to the sick upon a physician's request. She was married on 20 September 1855 at Middletown, Connecticut, by Rev. J.L. Dudley to William W allace MacFarland.
