She was married to William Proudfoot in Brodhead. WI, at the age of 1 9. To this union 8 children were born, 5 of whom survive her. Soon after their marriage they moved to New Orleans and were living there during the exciting outbreak of the civil war. Hastily leaving the south they returned to Wisconsin and have s ince resided near and in Mount Hope.
Besides her aged husband and 5 children to mourn her loss a host of friends and neighbors will miss her kindly face and the pleasant word that ever greeted the welcome caller.
The bereaved family gratefully acknowledge the help extended them in this time of sorrow.
