RESIDENCE: James McFarland must have come to Pennsylvania in 1719, first settling in Pequea, (now in Conestoga Township) Chester (that part now in Lancaster) County, PA.
MIGRATION: Migrated about 1727 to the Cumberland Valley. "The first settlers in the Cumberland Valley, entering by way of the NE and probably crossing the Susquehana at Harris Ferry were Richard Parker, James McFarlane, Andrew Ralston, and Tobias Hendricks.
