  Mary Helen Haines notes: On Jan. 15, 1800, Patrick McFarling enters 50 acres in Rutherford Co. on the wates of First Broad River, bordering William McFarland. #1761 He is listed in the 1800 and 1810 censuses in Rutherford Co. Patrick wrote a will Sept. 20, 1810, Proved Oct. 1810, from Will Book 1?, p. 247. He mentioned his wife Pegga, does not name his children, but mentions that he hopes his blacksmith tools will be used by his sons. He names his friends William and James McFarland as his executors.
