  1 - Roxann(Roxa), census said she was from Massachusetts born in England in 1835 no maiden name found. She is called a widow in 1875 City Directory no death notice found. [CMW genealogy form from MHH rec:6 Sept 2013] 2 - I found the 1870 and 1860 censuses for Roxie Mcfarland. In 1870 she was in San Francisco with three children, Amelia, 16 born New York, Roxie, age 8 born in Calif, and Samuel age 5, she is alone and she is running a boarding house. So I went looking in NY for 1860, and found Roxa McFarland with her husband «b»Franklin, not Samuel. «/b»They are in New York, he is 35 from Conn. makes furniture, with children John, age 7 born in California and Amelia age 6, born N.Y. Then I found a voting record for a «b»John Franklin McFarland«/b» in1867 in Nevada, California and his estimated birth year coincides with the birthyear in the 1860 census.
