  One source has him as a son. However, where is he in the 1850 census? Harrison McFarland, born abt. 1832, 31 years old when he enlisted in the Union army in the Civil War. He was in the 11th Kentucky Cavalry, Co. L. He enlisted as a Private, and became a Sergeant. His last muster record was August 31, 1864. There is nothing after that. His wife filed for a pension in 1866. 40. HARRISON7 MCFARLAND (JAMES C6, ALEXANDER5, WILLIAM4, DUNCAN3, ROBERT2, ROBERT1) was born 1833 in Fentress Co. Tennessee. He married SARAH J.
