  In the 1850 census for Texas Co. MO, there is a widow named Trifame McFarland, 30 years old, from Tennessee, living with the children Horatio, Horace, Elizabeth, Sarah Ellen, and three more, Alonzo, 7, Margaret C. 5, and William W. one year old. This branch of the family was recorded by Elsa McFarland Turner, in 1969 from her home in Albany, Texas. It is a booklet called Dear Folks: A McFarland Family 1764-1970. She especially centers on the descendants of Horatio Harris McFarland. She provides the birth, death, and marriage information about the descendants.
