  1 -Assumed to have died before 1871 census as he does not appear with family then & wife Mary is shown as head.-Ed. 2 - In the 1841 census a Robert Urrie (sic) is living with his wife Margret Urrie and their children Janet, William and Margaret. In the 1851 census Robert Urie is living with Mary Urie and with them are William Urie aged 12 and Margaret Urie aged 10 and little Robert Urie aged 10months and then in the 1861 census William and his sister Margaret Urie have left the home. I believe that Robert Urie snr had been married twice, 1. Margaret ? 2 to Mary MacFarlane of Cardross. Robert Urie snr died 17-12-1866 at Helensburgh and listed on his DC his occupation China Merchant and his wife Mary died 7-9-1886 at Helensburgh and she is listed as a China Merchant.
