Hes parents John Crawford and Martha Crawford, formerly Martha Robinson emigrated from Cumberland county, Pa. to Kentucky in 1790. In March 1827, he rode to Missouri on horseback and in 1828 went to the lead mines at Galena and Wisconsin, returning to St. Louis in the summer of 1829 in a flat boat. He wife died in Henry county, Mol, September 8th, 1834. Hes second marriage was to Miss Darilda J.
