• Notes

  Mary Helen Haines notes: Just recently found out about Newton William Albert's first wife. Their marriage took place when she was only 14 years old. Mary Eugenia Stone must have been visiting her uncle, Kendrich Stone, who was married to Mary E. Etheridge, the daughter of Anna McFarland and Howard Etheridge. In the 1870 census, Kendrich and Mary are living with the Ethrige family #96, who lives next to the McFarland family of Newton and Sarah McFarland #97, Arthur McFarland #98, and James and Jane McFarland, #99 in Prec. 4, Fannin County. They would have all been living on the original land grant of James McFarland.
