  • Notes
    • MHH notes: John appears to be living in Lafayette County in Clay township in the 1840 census. Image 15/40. In that same county is George McFalrand and Samuel McFarland on Image 17/40. In the 1850 census that are all missing from Lafayette County, but there is John W. McFarland living in Johnson County, Post Oak Twp. The ages fit for this John in 1850 to be the same John in Lafayette in 1840. In the 1830 census in Lafayette County, living with Sarah (who I believe is Sally Jack) McFarland are two males, one is 20-30, which would fit with John W. and another is a male between 10 and 15 years of age. There are also two females between 20 and 30, and mother Sarah is 50 to 60.
