  Several descriptions of this cemetery follow: First was shared with me by Dianne Gomez: MCFARLAND FAMILY GRAVES These notes were made by Doris Smith Haley in August, 1981, taken from six gravestones found on Charles Loesing farm, four miles south of Boonville, MO on Rankin's Mill Road. Rankin Family Graves (Reuben McFarland line). Cemetery is fenced with wrought iron and a cedar tree at each headstone facing east. McFarland Born in North Carolina Born October 17 1804 Died January 26 1882 Became citizen of Missouri A.D. 1869 True to himself, his family, his country and his God, his children rise up and called him blessed. Eunice McFarland Daughter of Archibald and Zibba Rice And wife of Reuben McFarland Born March 6 1805 Died December 24 1874 Why weep for thy loved Mother the Angel said, though gone from thy Sight she is not dead. Her home is with Him of the thorn crowned head. C. Loesing. History: The cemetery was named after Reuben McFarland, who was born in North Carolina, one of eight children of Jacob and Nancy nee' Cathey McFarland. Nancy Cathey was a daughter of George Cathey, a Revolutionary Soldier. These families all came to Missouri about 1816; to St. Genevieve County and lived there two years and then came to Cooper County, in 1818; and settled the land where they lived out the remainder of their lives. The cemetery had head stones and an iron fence around it, with tall cedar trees just outside the fence. Recorded by Mr. and Mrs. Grover Debo.
