  Benjamin and his father Benjamin Sr. came to Texas from Tennessee before 1846. They appear on the tax list for that year, and they have land grants, Class III that date to 1846. The Benjamin Walker land grant is directly below Daniel Waggoner's. Judging from census records in 1850 their land was near John McFarland's land where John and Mary were living with their daughter Eliza and F.P. Deguire. In 1850 Benjamin Jr. is a newly-wed with one child S.A. just born. In 1860, his wife, S.A. is dead, and he has listed as children, Ann 10, Mary 8, and Ellen 5.
