  Mary Helen Haines notes: He is not present on the 1880 census with the rest of the family. He joined the military from Chickasha, Oklahoma. He had no children. According to the 1920 and 1930 census, Lawrence must have been born around 1881, which would explain his absence on the 1880 census in Coleman Co. even though in his application for a disability pension he stated his birth year as 1879. When he filled out a WW I Draft registration, he states his birth date as May 18, 1882.
