  DICKiNSON MCFARLAND/MCFARLIN (1822 to 1838) (Research by Peter Folsom McFarlin - May, 2012 reviewed Oct 2018) William (son of "John") McFarland, "...reared a large family. Eleven c hildren arrived at years of maturity. But one son is living, Anderson , at Coitsville. Four of his daughters are living, viz: Mrs Lydia Maha n, Liberty, Trumbull county; Miss J emima McFarlin, Niles; Mrs Matild a Price, Coitsville, and Mrs Lavina Harris, Youngstown..." (*1 p 168) . In the sketch for Elizabeth Loveland (*1 p 165), Williams wrote, ".. .Elizabeth became the mother of six sons and six daughters." All abo v e written in 1881-1882. Edwards (*2) wrote in 1878; "...Dickinson was drowned while bathing i n the Mahoning River." Information from the Hopewell Cemetery in New B edford, Lawrence co, PA is that "Dickinson McFarlin" died in June 1838 . "Dickinson McFarlin d Jun 30 1838 , 16y 5m". Also buried there, and a lso spelled McFarlin, are; his uncle James 1838, grandmother Maggie (M argery) 1835, and a young cousin, Margery McFarlin (no dates) - "daugh ter of James and Melissa".
