  1. 1.  John McFarland was born between 1800 and 1810 in North Carolina; died in UNKNOWN.

    Notes:

Have no knowledge about this child. There is an unaccounted for John J. (or G.) McFarland in the 1840 census, living in Liberty with a wife and two children, one male, one female, and one older woman, on same page as the rest of the McFarlands of St. Francois Co. However, I believe this is Jesse Jackson McFarland, son of Jesse McFarland, living with his widowed mother.

However, I believe that this John McFarland may have been a first son, born before Newton. He may have been the father of Robert McFarland, who appears as a one-seventh heir of the estate of John and Mary Fleming McFarland after John's death in Texas. He may also have been married to a Rebecca, because there is an unaccounted for Rebecca McFarland on the 1843 census for Texas in Fannin County. Mystery!!
